Movers & Shakers - 9 November 2017

The below stocks have been identified as having potential to register bigger than normal share price moves (up or down) today based on the news cited

UK Housing Sector (BDEV, BKG, PSN, TW.) - A disappointing RICS House Price Index print overnight (1.0% vs 4.0% expected) could have an impact on UK Housebuilders at the open. London saw more respondents report falling prices than at any other time since 2009.

AstraZeneca (AZN) - The Pharmaceutical giant announces that it expects its FY loss to be less than previously expected, effectively upping guidance, as a sales decline in older drugs slowed. Q3 revenues improved 9% to top analysts' estimates ($6.2bn vs $6.0bn exp.) alongside earnings-per-share ($1.12 vs £1.09 exp.).

Hikma Pharmaceuticals (HIK) - The company continues to expect revenue and core operating profit broadly in line with 2016 performance due to favourable FX impact, although outstanding issues remain with generic drug advair.

National Grid (NG.) - The energy provider has maintained its FY outlook, raised its dividend 2.1% in line with policy while expecting a stronger H2.

Sainsburys (SBRY) - The big four supermarket has reduced its interim dividend by 0.5p (-14%) as H1 underlying pre-tax profit falls 9% YoY. However, the company reported like-for-like sales increase 1.6% during the period despite concerns of changing consumer spending patterns and reiterated guidance.
