Interserve PLC (IRV.L) –Said financial performance was "extremely poor" in 2017, reporting a wider full-year pretax loss of £244.4m compared with only a £94.1m loss a year earlier. Closing price 107.67p (Reuters)

WPP PLC (WPP.L) – After seeking to allay investor unease about breakup of agencies and the departure of Martin Sorrell, Q1 like for like sales dropped by 0.1%, however this was better than expected against analysts’ expectations of a 1% drop in sales. Its Executive Chairman said Q1 results were “in line with our expectations.” Closing price 1150.10p (Bloomberg / Reuters)

Sainsbury PLC (SBRY.L) - And Walmart agree to a proposed combination of Sainsbury’s & Asda to create an enlarged business. The merger will see Walmart holding 42% of the combined business and will receive £2.98bn for Asda, valuing it at approximately £7.3bn on a debt-free, cash-free and pension-free basis. Walmart will not hold more than 29.9% of the total voting rights in the Combined Business. Closing price 269.87p (Bloomberg)
