ARM Holdings (ARM.L) - Apple Inc reported a 33% leap in quarterly profits to $13.6bn (£8.9bn) thanks to strong iPhone sales, particularly in China. The results for the three month period mark the company's best ever first quarter. Closing Price 1190.00p (Sky News)

BP (BP.L) - Reported Q1 profit of $2.58 billion on Tuesday, largely beating expectations, as a hefty increase in refining revenue offset a slump in oil production earnings. Closing Price 476.90p (Reuters)

St James Place (STJ.L) - Posted Q1 net inflows of £1.3bn, it said on Tuesday, up 9% from a year earlier. Funds under management rose to £55.8bn up 22% from a year earlier and up 7% since the beginning of the year. Closing Price 906.50p (Reuters)

Centrica (CNA.L) - Britain's largest energy supplier Centrica has made preparations in case it is approached with a takeover offer, the utility's chairman said at the company's annual shareholders' meeting in London. Closing Price 269.10p (Reuters)

Whitbread (WTB.L) - Andy Harrison to retire next February as it posted a better than expected rise in full-year profit. Pre-tax profit was £488.1m, up 18.5% on a year ago and ahead of an average forecast of £478.7m. Closing Price 5440.00p (Reuters)
