Tullow Oil (TLW.L) - Returned to profit in H1 of 2016 despite weaker oil prices and lower production, as its stringent cost-cutting regime pays off. Showing a pretax profit of $24m, compared with a $10 million loss in the same period last year. Cutting capex on exploration to $28m. Closing price 298.00p (Reuters)
ITV (ITV.L) – Expected its key net advertising rev to slip around 1% in the first nine months of the year, ahead of analyst expectations which was a 5% fall in Q3. It would trim costs to prepare for economic challenges ahead. Setting aside £25m in cost saving exercises for EU ‘leave’ Uncertainty. Closing price 184.80p (Reuters)
Antofagasta (ANTO.L) - Sees full-year copper production would be at the lower end of the 710,000-740,000 tonnes it predicted in January, but said it was confident targets would be met, delivering on cost control and operational efficiency. Closing price 490.30p (Reuters)
Arm Holdings (ARM.L) - Earlier this month agreed to be bought by Softbank Group Corp for $32bn, reported a 5% rise in Q2 profit. Pretax profit came in at £130.1m on revenues which rose 9% to $387.6m. Closing price 1677.00p (Reuters)
HSBC (HSBA.L) – Following on from RBS, are now the second bank in a week to suggests that if interest rates are cut further by the BoE, they could charge customers interest for cash deposits on account. Closing price 494.00p (Reuters)
Renishaw (RSW.L) – Reports fy pretax profit of £80m against £144.2m year ago, down 45% and fy revenue down 12%. Closing price 2414.00p (Reuters)
