Lloyds Banking Group (LLOY.L) – Report underlying earnings per share for Q1 which missed the lowest analyst estimate of 1.8p by 16%, coming in at 1.5pp share, it also missed on underlying profit coming in lower by 3% at £2.00bn against expectations of £2.08bn. Shire Pharmaceuticals PLC (SHP.L), Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. (TKD) – Shire said it was willing to recommend a deal with Takeda Pharmaceutical Co to its shareholders, as it hiked its acquisition offer to £46bn. Closing price 3934.00p, 4511¥ (Bloomberg)
Boohoo.com Ltd (BOO.L) – Said they had beat forecasts with a 40% increase in 2017-18 profit due to e-commerce demand. Making a pretax profit of £43.3m in the year to Feb. 28, up from £30.9m y-o-y and climbing 10% on the £39.4m expected by analysts. Revenue climbed 97%. Closing price 155.10p (Bloomberg / Reuters)
Persimmon PLC (PSN.L) – Reported robust trading since the start of the year, with sales conversions, cancellation rates in line with expectations. Total forward sales revenue, including completions, was up by 8% at £2.76bn.. Average selling prices of its homes rose 3% to £236,500. Closing price 2689.00p (Reuters)
Whitbread PLC (WTB.L) – The CEO has said the time was right to spin-off the group's Costa Coffee chain from its Premier Inn unit as both businesses were big enough and had international growth potential to enable them to thrive alone. Closing price 4190.00p (Reuters)
