United Utilities (UU.L) - Posted a 4% rise in profits to £653.3M and increased its annual dividend to 37.7p. Closing Price 1009p (Reuters)

Royal Mail (RMG.L) - Posted an operating profit of £740M up 6% on the previous year helped by cost cutting measures despite tough price competition from competitors. Closing Price 499.90p (Reuters)

National Grid (NG..L) - Reported an 11% rise in annual pre-tax profit, allowing the company to pay shareholders a full-year dividend of 42.87p, up 2% year on year. Made £2.9bn in pre-tax profit, ahead of a company-provided consensus forecast, and saw earnings per share rise 9% to 58p. Closing Price 903.30p (Reuters)

Phoenix IT (PNX.L) - Potential offer by Daisy Group of 160p. Closing Price 129p (Reuters)

Rio Tinto (RIO.L), BHP Billiton (BLT.L) and Glencore (GLEN.L) - Miners in focus on Chinese stimulus hopes after disappointing PMI data. Closing Prices 2867.00p, 1395.50p and 292.50p (Reuters)
