GKN (GKN) - The company, fending off a hostile takeover from Melroseconfirms it is in discussions with Dana Inc about a combination of its GKN Driveline, using mostly equity. GKN also announced it has agreed an extra £160m pension contribution with trustees.

London Stock Exchange (LSE) - The stock exchange owner announces FY total revenues improved 17% (with a 10% organic increase), adjusted operating profit and adjusted  EPS at +18% and +19% respectively, allowing management to hike the dividend by 19%. It notes strong financial markets are a key driver, while it is making good progress on CEO replacement process with strong field of candidates.

Mondi (MNDI) - The South African packaging company announces H2 revenues were up 5% YoY, while underlying operating profit +13% and PBT +18%. Management announces a 12% higher final dividend alongside a €1 special dividend, noting positive outlook, upward momentum on pricing and manageable cost pressure, but some FX headwinds.

Spire Healthcare (SPI) - Britain's second-largest healthcare firm announces 2017 core earnings fell 7.4%, hurt by weakness in business linked to NHS online referrals. EBITDA fell to £150m from £162m, while revenue rose marginally to £931.7m.
