Its recovery hinges on the success of new medicines and results from a closely watched clinical trial testing a combination of two lung cancer drugs, which investors view as risky. Glencore (GLEN.L) – Full year production was in line with guidance, Copper production of 1,425,800 tonnes was 5% lower than 2015, Zinc production of 1,094,100 tonnes was 24% down on 2015, due to the October 2015 announced production curtailments, Nickel production of 115,100 tonnes was 20% higher than 2015, Coal production of 124.9m tonnes was 5% down on 2015, Oil interest of 7.5m barrels was 29% lower than 2015.. 2017 production guidance unchanged. Reckitt Benckiser Group (RB..L) – Said it was in advanced talks to buy baby food maker Mead Johnson Nutrition Co in a deal valued at about $16.7bn. Closing Price 6830p (Reuters)
Royal Dutch Shell (RDSA/B.L) – Missed analysts' profit expectations for the fourth quarter after booking $500m of impairments. Shell's cost of supplies excluding identified items, its preferred way of measuring profit, was $1.8bn in Q4 vs. $2.8 billion expected. Closing Pricing 2137p & 2223p (Reuters)
Vodafone (VOD.L) – Said it would meet the "lower end" of its earnings guidance for the full year as its battles intensifying competition in India and Britain. India, where new entrant Jio has shaken up the market, overshadowed continued growth in Europe, with the exception of its home British market. It reported a 1.7% rise in organic service revenue for its third quarter. Closing Price 193p (Reuters)
