Movers & Shakers - 19 May 2016

The below stocks have been identified as having potential to register bigger than normal share price moves (up or down) today based on the news cited

International Consolidated Air (IAG.L), Easyjet (EZJ.L), Ryanair (RYA.L) - Egyptian airline Egypt Air says its Flight MS804, en route from Paris to Cairo and carrying 69 people, has "disappeared from radar." Closing prices 527p, 1487p, 13.17euros. (CNBC).

Royal Mail (RMG.L) - Reported a better-than-expected profit for the financial year, as tight cost controls more than made up for losses due to high competition in the UK postal market. Adjusted operating profit before transformational costs rose 5% to £742m in the year ended March 27th. Analysts on an average were expecting £727m. Royal Mail handled 4% fewer addressed letters in the year, a smaller decline than it had forecast, largely due to the return of direct delivery volumes, it said on Thursday. Closing price 508p. (Reuters)

Thomas Cook (TCG.L) - Said its summer bookings were down 5% as tourists shunned Turkey, its second-most popular destination last year, leading to a lower forecast for full-year earnings. Revenue for its first half grew slightly to £2.67bn and its underlying operating loss improved by 5% to £163m thanks to the positive impact of selling higher quality holidays on its margins. Closing price 89.5p. (Reuters)

National Grid (NG.L) - Said its full-year pretax profit rose 15%, aided by strong growth in its interconnectors and property businesses. Pretax profit grew to £3.03bn for the year to March 31st, compared with a profit of £2.63bn a year earlier. Closing price 999.2p. (Reuters)
