UK 100 ( UK 100 Cash), DAX (Gemnay 30 Cash), The Dow Jones (Wall Street Cash) – With US markets at record highs Russia said the deaths of its servicemen in Crimea would carry “consequences” and Ukraine put its troops on “high alert,” warning that Vladimir Putin is seeking to reignite the conflict in the disputed territories. The confrontation coincided with a surge in violence in Ukraine’s eastern territories. Current levels 6,04pts, 10,702pts, 18,608pts (Bloomberg)

AstraZeneca (AZN.L) – Britain’s healthcare cost watchdog NICE stated AstraZeneca’s blood thinning drug Brilinta has been recommended as a cost-effective option for treating patients after a heart attack. Closing prices 5161.00p (Reuters)

Glencore (GLEN) – Glencore cancelled plans to sell a copper mine in Chile to raise $500m, after failing to achieve a high enough offer. Closing prices 198.27p (Reuters)

Bp. (BP.L), Royal Dutch Shell (RDSb.L), Tullow Oil (TLW.L), Cairn Energy (CNE.L), Weir Group (WEIR.L), Premier Oil (PMO.L) - Oil prices rose by around 1% on Friday, extending gains from the previous session on expectations that exporters could talk at an upcoming meeting about ways to prop up a market that continues to be dogged by a supply overhang. Closing prices 432.30p, 2005.00p, 221.30p, 192.00p, 1561.00p, 67.50p, (Reuters)
