Home Retail (HOME.L) - Posted its ninth consecutive quarter of improvement in like-for-like sales at its Argos household goods chain, although the rise was short of market expectations, accompanied by an increase in its gross margin at the stores. Like-for-like sales at Argos rose 1.2%in the 13 weeks to August 30, below analyst expectations of 3.4%. Closing price 187.6p. (Reuters)

Morrison Supermarkets (MRW.L) Posted a 51% slump in first-half profit. Despite the profit fall Morrison’s is paying an interim dividend of 4.03p, up 5% and confirmed a commitment to pay a full-year dividend of no less than 13.65p. Like-for-like sales performance was yet to improve; there were some encouraging initial trends. Closing price 176.60p (Reuters)

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L) Lloyds (LLOY.L) Standard Life (SL.L)  All announced they will move their headquarters from Scotland if they decide to vote ‘yes’ in leaving Great Britain next week. Closing prices 342.20p, 73.23p, 390.25p respectively (Reuters)

Next (NXT.L) - Posted a 19.3% rise in first half profit, with growth at both its stores and home shopping business and also reiterate its guidance. pretax profit of £324.2m in the six months to July, up from £271.8m made in the same period last year. Next is outperforming rivals because of a strong online offer, a constant stream of new store openings and diversification into new product areas, such as home wares, as well as new overseas markets. Closing price 7165p. (Reuters)

Ocado (OCDO.L) - Reported gross retail sales up 15.5% in its fiscal third quarter but average order size fell as competition increased in the business. Gross sales rose to £218.5m in the 12 weeks to Aug. 10, compared to a rise of 15.6% in the first half. Closing price 311.8p. (Reuters)
