Rio Tinto (RIO.L), BHP Billiton (BLT.L) - Rio Tinto expects to remain the lowest-cost iron ore supplier to China and therefore to be least affected by a slump in prices of the material, a senior executive said, dismissing rival BHP Billiton's threat to displace it in the ranking. UK 100 Index ( UK 100 Cash) - UK Chancellor, George Osborne, will deliver his Autumn Statement at 12:30pm today. It is expected to include measures aimed at helping the High Street compete against online retailers, including a review of business rates. Funding for small businesses is likely to be extended as is a review of the stamp duty system. Closing level 6742.10pts (BBC)

Royal Dutch Shell (RDSB.L) and BP (BP.L) - Were at centre of takeover speculation late yesterday with traders citing talk of bid from Shell, both companies declined to comment. Closing Prices 2292.00p and 433.85p (Reuters)
