Standard Chartered Plc (STAN.L) - Announced plans to raise $5.1bn in new capital through a rights issue and cut 15,000 jobs by 2018 as new Chief Executive Bill Winters tries to restore profitability at the lender that has been hit hard by a slowdown in emerging markets. Direct Line Insurance Group (DLG.L) - Said it was on track to achieve its 2015 targets, cutting costs by 7% in the first nine months of the year, with an 6.8%rise in motor premiums. Closing price 391.50p (Reuters)

Imperial Tobacco (IMT.L) - Underlying tobacco net revenue +3.1% in the year to September 30th. Expects Q1 volumes to continue to reflect tough trading situation in Iraq and Syria as well as strong comparatives from last year. Closing price 3497p. (Reuters)

Associated British Foods (ABF.L) - Annual earnings -2%, as growth accross the board offset by a slump in sugar operation and currency moves. Expects currency pressures to lead to "modest decline" in adjusted operating profit and adjusted earnings for 2015-16. Closing price 3434p. (Reuters)
