Tullow Oil (TLW.L) - reported a $415m pre-tax write-off in net exploration in the first half of 2014 after disappointing results in Mauritania, Ethiopia and Norway. Despite poor exploration results it maintained its full-year production guidance of 79,000-85,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Closing price 855p. (Reuters)

Carillion (CLLN.L) - First-half performance in line with expectations and full-year targets unchanged. New order intake remains strong. Closing price 333.2p. (Reuters)

Mothercare (MTC.L) has rejected two bid proposals from Destination Maternity. The firm said its latest proposal was worth 300P for each Mothercare share, valuing the British company at £266M.  Closing Price 232.50p (Reuters)

Blinkx (BLNX.L) - Trading for first half period has been below management expectations. Attribute performance to industry-wide issues, compounded by lingering effects of disparaging blog about company. EBITDA will be $5m below management expectations for period. Closing price 65.75p. (Reuters)

Topps Tiles (TPT.L) - Like-for-like revenues for q3 increased by 6.3% (2013: decrease of 1.5%). Q3 performance is in line with management's expectations. Closing price 104.25p. (Reuters)

Persimmon (PSN.L) - Trading during first six months of this year has been strong. Total revenues have increased by 33% to £1.2bn (2013 : £0.9bn). Group legally completed 6,408 new homes (2013 : 5,022). Closing price 1298p.(Reuters)
