UK 100 called to open -29 points this morning at 5901. Yesterday saw the reopening of the US stock markets after the labour day bank holiday on Monday, The Dow Jones dropped by 632.42 points, or 2.3%, to close at 27,500.89 to continue on the fall from late last week. The S&P also fell, dropping 2.8% to 3,331.84. The Nasdaq Completed the set, closing 4.1% lower to 10,847.69. Tech stocks once again lead the downward movement seeing the Nasdaq now being down 10% in the last three days of trading.
Computacenter reported that H1 2020 pretax profit rose 42.5% to £72.4m, with revenues rising 1.5% to £2.4bn.
IAG shareholders backed its plan to raise over 2.75bn euros in equity that saw CEO Willie Walsh hand over to Luis Gallego.
Tullow Oil reported a H1 2020 loss of $1.3bn (2019: $103m profit) on the back of previously flagged $1.4bn impairment due to the group lowering its oil price outlook. They are evaluating various refinancing alternatives as cash flow projections have forecast a potential liquidity shortfall.
