Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open +90 points this morning at 5990.  Calls for a positive open come on the back of Joe Biden being declared the incumbent President of the United States over the weekend.  A Biden presidency is likely to see a more conciliatory approach to international trade along with a concerted effort to get the rampant coronavirus outbreak under control & with the Republicans retaining the Senate it appears unlikely his package of tax hikes will go through.  Stocks in Asia-Pacific surged today, In Japan, the Nikkei 225 gained 2.12%.  Chinese stocks also surged with the Shanghai composite up 1.7% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index advanced 1.42%.  Dow futures are already spiking, with the US index 300 points higher at 28,700.
