Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open -19 points today at 7103. Calls for a muted open to the week come on the back of a fairly positive session in Asia overnight, The Shanghai Composite in China gained 1.07% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 0.63% In Japan, the Nikkei 225 lifted 0.33% while South Korea’s Kospi dipped 0.15%.  It was a positive story on Wall Street on Friday also, seeing two of the major benchmarks hitting fresh all time highs, the Dow Jones rose 144 points, or 0.4 per cent, to close at an all-time high of 35,208. The S&P 500 rose almost 0.2 per cent, another index to reach a record close of 4,436.52. The Nasdaq, however, declined 0.4 per cent to 14,835, elsewhere gold price crumbled to to five-month lows.

Company News:

Hargreaves Lansdown reported a rise in annual underlying earnings, with the 'meme' trading frenzy amongst retail clients increasing customers. Profit rose to £366m compared to £339.5m a year earlier. Assets under management increased by 30% to £135.5bn.
AstraZeneca says Forxiga has been approved for treatment of chronic kidney disease in the EU. This was based on unprecedented phase 3 data. Forxiga also reduced the risk of death from any cause by 31%.
AstraZeneca also says Enhertu (breast cancer treatment) head-to-head trial meets primary endpoint.
Domino's Pizza is to sell its entire Swiss business for 0.3 CHF.
Halma says it recently completed three acquisitions for £48.8m and has completed the sale of Texecom Limited for £65m.

Broker Comments:

Morgan Stanley resumes with Overweight rating on AstraZeneca target price 9800p.
Barclays raises Domino's Pizza target price to 425p from 380p.
