Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +25 points today at 7541.  The UK 100 looks set to open the new trading week in the green, with the City largely ignoring Boris Johnson's long-running Whitehall farce, this also follows a mixed start in Asia.  Mainland China returned from the lunar new year with a bang, while the Nikkei was hit by the weak performance from the industrials sector. Fridays session on Wall Street saw the S&P and Nasdaq advanced for their fifth positive session in the last six, and the indices also posted their best week since December. The Dow slid 0.06% on Friday, but still managed to post a 1.05% gain for the week. The Russell 2,000 meantime posted its first positive week in five and best week of 2022.
