Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open +70 points this morning at 7228. Stock prices are seen opening higher on Monday, despite a somewhat uncertain handover from Asia, though trading volumes are expected to be low as US markets are closed today to mark Independence Day. US stocks closed higher on Friday with the Dow & S&P +1.1%, while the Nasdaq +0.9%. Overnight the Nikkei was +0.6%, Shanghai +0.4% and Hang Seng -0.2%.

Grafton CEO Gavin Slark is to step down after 11 years on Dec 31st, as search for his successor has begun.
Ryanair's Spain-based cabin crew plan to strike for 12 days this month to demand better working conditions, raising the prospect of travel chaos as the summer tourist season gets under way. They reported June 2022 traffic of 15.9m passengers (June 2021: 5.3m passengers).
Wizz Air carries 4.3m passengers in June 2022, nearly triple last June's figures.
