Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open -8 points today at 7421.  The UK 100 looks set for a modestly lower open this morning as Russian-Ukrainian fighting continues.  Oil prices continued to surge higher again overnight with Brent hitting $117  at one point, up 20% in a week.

ASOS & Boohoo have suspended sales in Russia after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
IAG has experienced surface degradation on Airbus A350 jets but not to the same extent as Qatar Airways and it will not affect planned deliveries.
ITV reports a FY pretax profit of £480m, up from £325m YoY. Their FY revenue rose to £1.76bn as they propose a final dividend of 3.3p.
 
London Stock Exchange reports a FY21 pretax profit of £987m (2020: £492m) as they declare a final dividend of 70p per share, with the fY21 total at 95p, +27% YoY.
Rentokil reports a 2021 pretax profit of £325.1m (2020: £229.8m) and declares a 6.39p 2021 dividend.
 
Schroders reports a pretax profit of £764.1m, +25% YoY and a 2021 dividend of 122p, +7% YoY. They state that current market turbulence "will be with us for some while".
Taylor Wimpey reports a 2021 pretax profit of £679.6m (2020: £264.4m) as results are in line with expectations. They have declared a final dividend of 4.44p (8.58p in total) and £150m share buyback in 2022 to return excess cash. Their operating profit margin stands at 19.3% (up from 10.8%) on prices and cost control. They have 10,009 homes in UK forward order book on Dec 31st, down from 10,685 YoY. They state that build cost inflation is running at 6%; price growth will offset this in 2022.
