Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +2 points at 7622.  The UK 100 expected to open marginally higher on Friday after data this morning from the Office for National Statistics showed the UK economy grew marginally in quarter, Gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have increased by 0.1% between October and December, revised from a first estimate of no growth. Yesterday In the US stocks made further progress, The Dow Jones jumped 141.43 points, or 0.4% to trade at 32,859.03. The S&P gained 23.02 points, or 0.6% to settle at 4,050.83 and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 87.24 points or 0.7%, to close at 12,013.47.  In Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 index in Tokyo was up 1.0%. the Shanghai Composite added 0.3% and the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong gained 0.6%.
