Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open -30 points this morning at 5864.  Calls for a negative open come as investors in Asia overnight seemed to still be digesting the outcome of the clash between Biden and Trump, however upbeat manufacturing data from China made the picture more mixed in Wednesday’s session, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 down 1.07% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 1.15%. In the US on Tuesday the major indices closed in the red to snap a three-day winning.  The Dow Jones struggled through the session, eventually closing lower by 131.40, or 0.5%, to settle at 27,452.66. The S&P 500 also dipped by 0.5% to close the day at 3,335.47, while the Nasdaq slid, but albeit by less, closing 0.3% lower, to close at 11,085.25.
