Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +20 points at 7584.  The UK looks set to make a bright start on Thursday following strong gains in the US.  Stocks gained on Wall Street after a number of positive earnings reports.  The Dow Jones jumped 323.35 points, or 1.0% to end at 32,717.60. The S&P gained 56.54 points, or 1.4%, to trade at 4,027.81 and the Nasdaq Composite added 210.16 points or 1.8%, to close at 11,926.24.  In Asia this morning, investor sentiment was more mixed. The Nikkei index in Tokyo was down 0.8%. In China, the Shanghai Composite was up 0.1%, while the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong was up 0.1% and the S&P/ASX 200 in Sydney closed up 1.0%.

Ithaca Energy reports a 2022 pretax profit of £2.24bn up from £763.1m YoY.

 

 

SSE have upgraded their FY23 adjusted EPS to over 160p from over 150p. They remain on course to deliver record investment of over £2.5bn this year.

 

 

S4 Capital’s 2022 pretax loss has widens to £159.7m from £55.7m YoY. They expect 2023 like-for-like net revenue growth of between 8-12%.
