Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open +24 points this morning at 7171.  The UK 100 looks set to open higher this morning, to provide some relief to traders after a difficult day yesterday in the City, Wall Street however saw a late rally on Thursday. The Dow closed Thursday up 146 points, 0.5%, at 31,656, while the Nasdaq lost 31 points, 0.3%, to 11,785 and the S&P added 12 points, 0.3%, to 3,967.  In focus today for investors will be US non-farm payrolls figures.

Ashmore Group report that their Assets Under Management on 30th June were £64bn (down from $94.4bn YoY) as they suffered $13.5bn negative net flows and $16.6bn negative investment performance in the FY. They reported a FY pretax profit of £118.4m (2021: £282.5m profit) and state that the outlook looks good on "exceptionally attractive valuations" in emerging markets.
 
Ryanair report that their August traffic was 16.9m passengers, +52% YoY from 11.1m passengers in 2021.
Ted Baker reports revenue growth of 3.4%, compared with Q2 FY22. Their instore revenue +20%, Ecommerce -13% and wholesale -14%
