Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 is called to open +2 points this morning at 7082. Calls for a modestly higher open today come after a strong start to June on Tuesday, which saw oil touch $71 a barrel.  It was a mixed day on Wall Street yesterday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing up 0.13% at 34,575, having been 250 points higher in early trading, while the S&P 500 dropped 0.05% to 4,202 and the Nasdaq fell 0.09% to 13,736 having also given up early gains. The picture was similarly mixed in Asia this morning, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 up 0.38% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.53%.
