Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 called to open -10 points this morning at 6374.   Calls for a slightly muted open follow a positive performance in the US overnight, which saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average close up 0.63% at 29,823 while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.28% to a record close of 12,355 and the S&P 500 climbed 1.13% to also end at a record high of 3,662.  Asian markets were more mixed on Wednesday following the rally on Wall Street, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 up 0.07% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped 0.35%.

 

Company News:

Independent Commitee of Kaz Minerals and board of Nova Resources announce terms of a recommended cash offer to be made by Bidco for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Kaz Minerals to be implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement.

Ryanair November air traffic down 82% to 2m passengers, due to the impact of the pandemic. Company say air traffic this winter could be as low as 25% of normal levels.

Centamin awarded open pit contract at Sukari Goold mine providing load, haul and ancillary services.

Tesco to repay government £585m of pandemic business rates relief. The company decided on this as some of the potential risks it faced from the pandemic are behind it now.

Avon Rubber sees strong opening order book of $101.7m, also provides excellent visibility and confidence for 2021.

Countrywide says revised Alchemy proposal (previously made) includes recapitalisation of company of approx. £70m to be fully underwritten by Alchemy Partners.
