Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +75 today at 7125.  A positive open is expected this morning as there has been resurgence in the oil prices, as supply constraints have pushed Brent crude to near three year highs. Shares in Asia today were mostly mixed, China's Evergrande Group remained a major unknown after the troubled property giant missed a payment on offshore bonds last week, with further payment due this week.  China’s Shanghai Composite slipped 0.98% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gained 0.21%. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 dipped 0.03%

Hikma buys generic sterile injectables company Custopharm for $375m.
Morrisons calls for October 19th meetings to approve CD&R takeover.
Oil Stocks: Britain has suspended competition laws on Sunday allowing competing fuel suppliers to share information and coordinate their response to the petrol shortages as the British army could be called on to deliver fuel to petrol stations running dry across the country.
Rolls Royce have been selected to provide powerplant for B-52 Stratofortress.
United Utilities reports that H1 trading is in line with expectations.
