UK 100 called to open +20 points at 7371; This welcome green open comes on the back of an under pressure trading session in Asia, political tensions in the US fed through to mute sentiment, with risk off sentiment very much the order of the day, seeing the Nikkei giving up 1.3% during trading. Stateside it was a similar story after Donald Trump lashed out a “whistleblower” whose complaint is fuelling a congressional impeachment probe and suggested that passing along allegations that he committed wrongdoing was tantamount to treason. However on a positive note the Dow did recover almost 100 points from its bottom to closing value. Crude oil bounced from the $61 level seen yesterday to settle at $62.3. Whilst gold held firm at $1505, could this be a sign however that risk On sentiment is still in full flow, despite geopolitical tensions running high, the traditional safe haven has barely moved?
