Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open +54 points this morning at 6728.   Oil prices are today once again center of attention, as the cargo ship that blocked the key trade route through the Suez canal has caused somewhat of a traffic jam, and attempts to refloat the vessel have so far, at least, been unsuccessful.  The blockage is preventing oil being imported into Europe.  It was a broadly positive day Stateside yesterday, seeing the Dow Jones jump by 199 points to close at 32,619 while the S&P also advanced by 20 points to trade at 3,910.  In Asia, it was a similar story, Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 476 points higher at 29,206 while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 497 points to sit at 28,397.
