Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +10 today at 7090.  A broadly unchanged start is expected this morning for the UK blue chip index. This follows a positive session stateside yesterday, which saw bond yields rise sharply which made the jump in US markets more impressive. The Dow Jones rose 1.5%, the S&P 1.3% and Nasdaq 1%. Asian markets were mostly lower on Friday, driven down by concerns over the Evergrande situation in China, as with the Chinese regime said to be warning local governments to prepare for its collapse the Shanghai Composite slipped 0.21% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index fell 0.11%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 was an exception, surging 2%.
