The UK 100 is called to open +11 points this morning at 6981. The UK 100 looks set to open marginally lower this morning as investors await the outcome of the Conservative Party leadership election to see who will be the next prime minister. Stocks climbed on Friday as Wall Street closed a volatile week on a high note despite some disappointing earnings reports to clinch the best week for the major averages since June. The Dow Jones gained 748.97 points, or 2.47%, to close at 31,082.56. The S&P 500 rose 2.37% to 3,752.75. The Nasdaq Composite added 2.31% to 10,859.72.
Asos PLC is set to confirm that the billionaire retailer Mike Ashley has built up a stake of more than 5% in the retailer.
