Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -25 points at 7476.   The UK 100 looks set to fall once more this morning, extending losses from yesterday, albeit that by yesterdays close, early losses had all but been pared off.   Overnight, Wall Street had a mixed session, with the Dow Jones flat but the Nasdaq rising 0.95% and the S&P 500 adding 0.37% as eight of the top 10 big tech stocks gained ground.  Asia was a sea of red this morning, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng tumbling 1.9%, Tokyo's Nikkei sliding 1.4% and the Shanghai Composite retreating 1.3%, with only India's Sensex showing some sort of resistance, down 0.3%.  These falls are on the back of the Bank of England's decision to raise intertest rates by 0.5% yesterday.
