Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open -21 points this morning at 6910. The UK bluechip index is set to open lower on Thursday after weak trading in the US & Asia, while the UK government descends further into chaos. Lizz Truss's government is teetering on the brink of collapse after another chaotic day which saw the acrimonious resignation of her home secretary. Wall Street ended lower on Wednesday with the Dow closing -0.3%, S&P -0.7% and Nasdaq -0.9%. In Asia overnight Shanghai closed +0.4%, Nikkei -0.7% and Sydney -1%.

AstraZeneca says data shows Evusheld's potential to reduce Covid severity and mortality.
 
Dechra Pharmaceuticals remains confident to achieve current market expectations for FY23.
 
Dunelm report that their Q1 sales came in at £357m, down 8% YoY. They remain confident in the "resilience" of business as their guidance for FY23 is unchanged.
National Express report that their Q3 revenue increased by 33% YoY as they note an ongoing recovery in passenger journeys across diversified markets. Their FY22 results are anticipated to be broadly in line with expectations.
Segro report a Q3 uplift on rent reviews & renewals 22% v 13% a year ago.
 
St James's Place report that their funds under management fell to £143.14bn on Sept 30th, down from £148.06bn YoY. They are comfortable with consensus expectations for new business and FY performance.
Travis Perkins expects their FY operating profit to be around the middle of current range of market expectations.
