Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open -10 points this morning at 7010.  Although the start to the week see's the UK blue chip index marginally softer, investors will likely take spirit from seeing it hold above the key 7000 mark.  It was a broadly positive session in Asia overnight and this morning, The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong added 0.62% while the Shanghai Composite in China gained 1.18%.  In Japan, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.06%.  Stateside on Friday saw The S&P and Dow advanced 1.38% and 1.18% last week respectively for their fourth straight week of gains, while the Nasdaq Composite posted its third positive week in a row.  The S&P 500 and Dow Jones both closed out the the week at record highs on Friday.
