UK 100 is called to open -10 points this morning at 6793. The UK blue chip index is set to open slightly lower this morning as traders wait to see the outcome of todays Federal Reserve meeting and interest rate decision. It was a mixed performance in US stocks yesterday, with the Dow Jones closing down by 0.39% at 32,825 while the S&P fell 0.16% to 3,962. The Nasdaq was the one positive index stateside, rising 0.09% to 13,471. It was also a muted session in Asia this morning, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 down 0.02% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.26%.
Capita have unveiled a plan to reorganise its business into three divisions and raise £700m from selling non-core assets as the British outsourcer seeks to accelerate a turnaround.
Dignity reports that its FY 2020 revenue has risen to £357.5m (2019: £338.9m) and that they have swung to a loss of £19.6m (2019: £44.1m). They state that their operating performance has been robust, despite the pandemic.
Ferrexpo's 2020 pretax profit increased 63% to $747.9m and they have announced a special interim dividend of 39.6 US cents per share.
G4S shareholders have accepted a £3.8bn takeover offer from Allied Universal.
Hargreaves Lansdown expects their FY21 pretax profit to be above top end of market expectations.
