Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open -24 points at 7988.  The UK 100 looks set to follow the US lower this morning, having closed above 8000 for the first time yesterday.  The Dow closed Thursday down 432 points or 1.3%, at 33,696, the Nasdaq dropped 215 points or 1.8%, to 11,856 and the S&P 500 fell 57 points or 1.4%, to 4,091.  The sell of was on the back of January’s Producer Price Index data, that showed a rise of 0.7% vs 0.4% expected.

Company News:

Kingspan report that their FY trading profit increased by 10% in “bumpy year” for the company.

 

 

NatWest reported a jump in annual profit for 2022 as the boost from successive Bank of England rate rises outweighed provisions for troubled loans in the cost of living crisis. They reported a pretax profit for the year of £5.1bn, up from £4bn the previous year and in line with analyst forecasts. They also announced a 10p per share final dividend and a £800m share buyback.

 

 

Segro report an adjusted pretax profit of £386m (+8.4% YoY) as they declare a 2022 dividend of 26.3p per share, +8.2% YoY. Their 2022 adjusted assets under management fall 1.6% to £20.95bn. They state that occupier demand for warehouse space across Europe continues to be positive.
