Markets Overview:

 

 

The UK 100 is called to open -15 points today at 7245.  The UK 100 looks set to pull back this morning after yesterdays interest rate fueled rally as tech fell sharply overnight on Wall Street. Stateside the tech-focused Nasdaq Composite fell 2.47% for its worst day since September. The other averages saw more modest losses. The Dow fell 0.08%, while the S&P 500 lost 0.8%. Stocks  in Asia were mostly lower on Friday as the US said it was imposing trade restrictions on Chinese research institutes and entities over human rights violations and the alleged development of technologies such as brain-control weapons.  China’s Shanghai Composite fell 1.06% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dropped 1.04%.  The Nikkei in Japan slumped 1.79% while South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.38%.
