Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open +7 points at 7526; This is on the back of yesterday’s 2%+ gain we saw on the UK blue chip index, following further positive sentiment on the back of Fridays general election result, secured certainly if nothing else for investors.  UK PM Boris Johnson has now said he will change law to guarantee the Brexit transition phase is not extended, setting up a new cliff-edge for a no-deal split with the EU at the end of next year, will this provide further investor certainty? If so could this provide a further leg up?  Positive sentiment wasn’t reserved exclusively for the UK yesterday though, the U.S saw all three major indices once again strike all time highs during trading, the Dow Jones closing at 28,235 (+100 points), the S&P closing at 3,191 (+23 points) and the Nasdaq closing at 8,814 (+80 points).  But the green sweep didn’t finish there....trading was buoyant in Asia also, the Nikkei closing at 24,070 (+118 points) and the Hang Seng at 27,813 (+305 points).  The positive trade was driven by further news of U.S - China trade deal edging ever closer to the finish line.  Oil crept ever higher overnight, trading at $65.7 per barrel at time of writing.  Whilst somewhat unexpectedly gold maintained its level of $1477 in spite if risk on being prevalent.
