Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +1 points at 7845. The UK 100 is expected to make a cautious start to the week with trading likely to be quieter with US markets closed for the day.  It was a mixed session in Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 index was down 1.1%. In China, the Shanghai Composite was up 1.0%, while the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong was down 0.6%. The S&P/ASX 200 in Sydney closed up 0.8%.  In the US on Friday, Wall Street ended higher, with the Dow Jones up 0.3%, the S&P up 0.4% and the Nasdaq up 0.7%.

Company News:

Ashmore Group assets under management says grow to $57.2bn, up 2%. The growth was due to $3.8bn positive investment v $2.6bn net outflow. They note net outflow halves from previous quarter due to positive market.

 

 

Assura completes 4 acquisitions and 3 developments worth £47m in FY22 Q3.

 

 

AstraZeneca completes the acquisition of Neogene Therapeutics for an initial payment of $200m and up to $120m in additional milestone-based consideration.

 

 

Centamin notes “favourable” constitutional court ruling in Egypt re Sukari license.

 

 

ITM Power says outcome for FY23 will be “materially different” from current guidance. New guidance for FY23 will see lower revenue and higher EBITDA loss.
