The UK 100 is called to open +1 points today at 7609. A narrowly higher open is expected this morning for the UK's blue-chip index, this comes as UK inflation increased from 5.4% in December to 5.5% in January. However, overnight, there has been a reported de-escalation of tensions in Ukraine as numbers of Russian forces demobilise and return to base. Last night, in New York, the Dow Jones closed yesterday’s session 422 points or 1.22% higher at 34,988. The S&P added 1.58% to finish the session at 4,471 whilst the Nasdaq advanced 2.53% to 14,139. Meanwhile, the small cap focused Russell 2,000 rose by 2.76% to 2,076. In Asia this morning, Japan’s Nikkei climbed 595 points or 2.22% to trade at 27,460 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng notched 1.24% higher to 24,657. The Shanghai Composite then moved up 0.46% to 3,461.

Primary Health Properties reports a FY pretax profit of £141.6m (up from £112.4m YoY). They declared a total dividend of 6.2p, up 5.1% YoY. Their FY net rental income increased 4.2% YoY to £136.7m. Primary Health are confident in their strong long term prospects.
