Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open -130 points this morning at 5960.   Traders wake up to another sea of red this morning, as major indices are mostly called to open negative. Oil prices slipped last night, as fears of a second wave of coronavirus infections coupled with underwhelming Chinese industrial output figures, did little to enthuse the market. Safe havens were sought after on the back of this, gold rising 0.2% to $1732 an ounce. Beijing has recorded dozens of new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, which were linked to a major market. Localised closures have ensued. The US itself, recorded 25,000 new cases on Saturday alone. Will bad data be good again, as we await US May retail sales on Tuesday, expected to show a bounce. Oil extended losses with Brent down 2.25% at $37.86 and WTI down 3.09% at $35.14.
