Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 is called to open +50 points this morning at 6640.  The UK blue chip index is expected to leap this morning on hopes Covid vaccine rollout will trigger end to lockdown restrictions, paired with hopes that President Biden is now expected to turn his full attention to the economic bail-out package for the world’s largest economy.  Major stock markets in Asia were higher on Monday as Japan’s Nikkei 225 surged past the 30,000 level for the first time in more than 30 years.  South Korea’s Kospi jumped 1.5% while the S&P/ASX 200 in Australia closed 0.91% higher.  Us Markets are closed today for Presidents day.
