Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 is called to open +40 points this morning at 7003.  The UK blue chip index this morning is called higher and looks to be set to wipe out yesterday's losses, which saw the index trade at one month lows before once again bouncing. Sentiment is much higher today after yesterday's green day on Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average jumped 433 points to close at 34,021, while the S&P 500 advanced 49 points to 4,113, ahead of US retail sales figures due to be released today. This positivity continued into Asian trading this morning, in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 was up 622 points at 28,070 while in Hong Kong the Hang Seng is 261 points firmer at 27,980.

Sage reported a better-than-expected 4.4% rise in organic recurring revenue in H1 to £811m and said it now expected growth for the FY to be towards the top end of its 3-5% range.
