Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 called to open +10 points this morning at 6195.  Calls for a positive open come as leading shares are expected to claw back a small portion of yesterday’s losses, despite some underwhelming data from China this morning.  During trading yesterday in the US the Dow Jones closed 80.12 points lower, or 0.3% at 27,896.72. The S&P dropped 0.2% to 3,373.43,  in doing so, the index failed to break above its all-time high once again despite stronger-than-expected unemployment data. The Nasdaq added 0.3% to end the day higher at 11,042.50.  Initial U.S. weekly jobless claims fell to 963,000 claims, the US Labor Department said. That’s below a analysts estimates of 1.1 million. It is the first time since March that jobless claims came in below 1 million.  Gold is changing hands at $1,962.50 an ounce, down $7.90, while Brent crude trades at $45.10, up 14 cents
