The UK 100 called to open +14 points at 7860. UK 100 is set to open slightly higher on Friday, ahead of earnings from major US banks, as sentiment was lifted by a cooler-than-expected US inflation reading. On Thursday Wall Street rallied with the Dow closing +1.1%, S&P +1.3% and Nasdaq +2%. In Asia on Friday the Nikkei closed +1.2%, Shanghai +0.4% & Hong Kong +0.2%.
AstraZeneca says investigational COVID antibody neutralises all known variants of concern.
AO World expects their FY23 UK revenue to be around £1.13bn, in line with their own plans.
Dr Martens expects their FY23 EBITDA to be around £245m. Their CFO Jon Mortimore is to retire, will remain in the role until a new successor is found.
Hays have updated that client and candidate activity remained solid in its temporary and contracting segment as corporates navigate broader economic uncertainties and rethink their permanent hiring plans. Their L-f-L net fees rose 5% in the three months ended March 31st.
National Grid says their FY23 performance is in line with own expectations. They continue to expect FY23 underlying EPS growth of 6-8%.
