Company News:

Balfour Beatty continues to expect their earnings-based underlying operating profit to be in line with 2019.

BT reported a 7% fall in revenue and a 6% fall in adjusted earnings for the year to end of March, reflecting the impact of COVID-19. They plan to extend their full fibre broadband network to 25m premises by the end of 2026 and aim to fund the 5m additional premises through a joint venture with other parties.

Burberry reported a 10% drop in their FY sales, weighed down by the COVID-19 pandemic. They state that their recovery from the crisis has accelerated through the year as they saw a strong rebound in Asia in its final quarter, offsetting some of the hit from continued COVID-related store closures in Europe.

Direct Line are to appoint Neil Manser as their new permanent CFO replacing Tim Harris.

Hargreaves Lansdown reported a rise in assets under administration (AUM) during the past 4 months but said it has started to see a fall in share-dealing volumes as pandemic curbs ease. Their AUM reached £132.9bn by April 30, compared with 120.6bn at the end of 2020. Net inflows climbed to £7.9bn from £6.3bn year to date.

Rolls-Royce says their flying hours are around 40% of 2019 levels in the first 4 months of 2021. They expect to turn free cash flow positive during H2 2021.
