Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +51 points at 7800. UK 100 is set to open higher on Tuesday, following the long Easter weekend. European markets were closed on Friday and Monday, whilst markets in New York closed on Friday, but reopened on Monday. On Monday Wall Street ended mixed with the Dow +0.3%, S&P +0.1% and the Nasdaq ending marginally lower. In Asia on Tuesday, the Nikkei was up 1.3%. In China, stocks were weaker following discouraging economic data as Shanghai closed -0.5% and the Hang Seng also closed marginally lower.

BP and Harbour Energy agree a deal to develop Viking CCS transportation, storage project. Harbour Energy stays as Viking CCS operator with 60% stake, BP acquires 40%.

 

Cineworld have filed a reorganisation plan with Texas bankruptcy court.

 

JTC report a 2022 pretax profit of £35.9m, up 29% YoY from £27.8m.
