Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +7 points at 7634.   A marginally higher open is expected today, this comes as A debt ceiling deal between President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy appears to have calmed markets at the start of the new trading week. The deal suspends the debt ceiling until January 2025, with federal spending capped over the next two years.  In Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 index was up 0.3%. In China, the Shanghai Composite was down 0.6%, while the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong was down 0.4%.

Hochschild says their COO Eduardo Landin is to become their new CEO.

 

 

Hunting wins a $91m contract with Cairn Oil & Gas, Vedanta for operations in India. After new contract win their order book is now circa $575m and they expect their 2023 EBITDA to be in the range of $92-94m.

 

 

Nestle says London Stock exchange Group’s Anna Manz is to become their new CFO.

 

 

Softcat “performed well” in Q3 FY23, cites growth in gross profit and operating profit as they expect to meet current expectations.

 

 

Unilever’s CFO Graeme Pitkethly is to retire from the company by end of May 2024.
