The UK 100 called to open +26 points at 7754. UK 100 is called to open higher on Friday as UK GDP data m/m figure missed coming in at -0.3% when 0% was expected, but the q/q figure was in line with expectations of 0.1% growth. USA ended largely lower, but did perk up towards the end of Thursday’s session as the Dow closed -0.7%, S&P -0.2% whilst the Nasdaq rose 0.2%. Stocks in Asia were mixed on Friday as the Nikkei closed +0.9%, Shanghai -0.8% and Hong Kong -0.4%.
Balfour Beatty still expects their 2023 profit from operations to be broadly in line with 2022.
Beazley reported a Q1 FY23 net income from investments of $104m vs a loss of $92m YoY. They are confident in their 2023 growth guidance for gross written and net premiums written.
GSK welcomes the decision of British Columbia Supreme court regarding Zantac litigation. They also complete the sale of 240m shares in Haleon at 335p per share, raising £804m.
