The UK 100 called to open +35 points at 7808. The UK 100 looks set to open higher today, bouncing from yesterdays fall in global markets, On Wall Street, the Dow Jones closed 367.17 points lower at 33,684.53. The S&P slipped 48.29 points, or 1.2%, to trade at 4,119.58 while the Nasdaq shed 132.09 points, or 1.1%, to settle at 12,080.51. Focus today will be on the conclusion of the Federal Reserve’s two day policy meeting, a 0.25% increase in interest rates is the expectation from analysts.
Barratt Developments expect their FY profit outlook to be in line with market forecasts. Their average weekly net private reservations per active outlet stood at 0.65 units in the fiscal year to April 23, up from 0.49 reported for January.
Coca-Cola HBC have forecast FY profit growth to be at the top end of its guidance, aided by robust demand for its soft drinks and executed price increases.
Flutter Entertainment says their Q1 average monthly players increased to 12.3m, up from 9.5m YoY. Their Q1 revenue increased to £2.41bn, up from £1.57bn YoY. They state that the addition of US listing positions them well for their next growth phase.
Haleon reported Q1 profit below analyst expectations as they were squeezed by higher costs. They generated adjusted EPS of 4.2p on revenue of nearly £3bn, down from analyst expectations of 5.24p EPS on revenue of about £2.9bn.
Lloyds beat profit expectations for Q1 as they were buoyed by interest rate rises despite Britain’s tough economic outlook. They reported a Q1 2023 pretax profit of £2.3bn, above the £1.95bn average of analyst forecasts compiled by the bank and up on the £1.5bn in Q1 2022.
Ryanair reports 16m guests in April, up 13% from 14.2m YoY.
THG reported a 2022 pretax loss of £548.7m on revenue of £2.24bn. They expect their revenue growth to be in the low-to-mid single digits in 2023.
